I think it is a limitation of the client when polling the local network for servers. ARK allows for single or multiplayer options and depending on the server, the number of players can vary significantly.

I have seen this with other games (I have done quite a bit of dedicated game server hosting for LAN parties). ARK allows you to choose between two modes: you can play the game from either a first or third-person perspective within no matter the type of the dedicated and non dedicated server. When I run the second server with official map (like TheIsland) everything works fine. I think we might be missing his original question, as it was not clear at first - he is asking why when he uses anything other then the default ports he cannot see the server in the local list. Hello, Im trying to run Ark servers in cluster and everything works ok for official maps, but when I try to start a server with Lost Island its visible in steam servers, but wont recognize which map is this. If he forwards the standard ARK Ports to the Server, while playing behind that same Router that will forward these Ports to the dedicated Server.nah no problems there. I did some research and I think I was port forwarding to the wrong IP. I was able to connect to the server VIA LAN and it worked fine, but failed to show up in WAN or in steam servers even when added. Ich werde diese im folgenden kurz beschreiben und die passenden Startparameter auflisten.

Is there any reason why you are trying to run the server on something other then the default ports? Alright, so I created an Ark dedicated server, the server is set up on an Ubuntu virtual machine on a separate pc running ESXI. Bei dem Spiel ARK: Survival Evolved werden vier Ports verwendet.

I do not think I can see it when viewing the full ARK server list online as when ARK is pulling the server list your client and server are using the same "WAN" IP - you run into a NAT loop back issue (Just like hosting a website from on you LAN and trying to use a web url - it does not work) I can also see the server when viewing the Servers /local - lan list in ARK itself

Dont worry, Ive already set em up and they work.BUT, I want em both running at the same time, and I cannot, for the life of me, find. To find my server I can see it on the steam / servers / lan list. Okay, Ive got two local servers I want to have set up and running at the same time for my family on my LAN. If the "dedicated server" box is only running ARK and you are behind a router / firewall then there is no real need to have the firewall turned on on the server (unless you set the server to be DMZ in the router) LPNW SP_Kenny a écrit :I run a private dedicated server (linux box) here at my house and play on my reguar windows computer.
